J S Bach Motets BWV 225-231
In 2020 Nick Houghton directed six workshop days, each dedicated to one of Bach’s six great choral motets.
#1 – Saturday 11 January 2020, All Saints, Eastbourne: Lobet den Herrn, alle Heiden BWV 230 PLUS BONUS Motet Sei Lob und Preis mit Ehren BWV 231 (this last is the Appendix to the Peters edition)
#2 – Saturday 25 January 2020, St Michael’s, Lewes: Singet dem Herrn ein neues Lied, BWV 225
#3 – Saturday 15 February, All Saints, Eastbourne: Der Geist hilft unsrer Schwachheit auf, BWV 226
#4 – Saturday 29 February, St Michael’s, Lewes: Fürchte dich nicht, ich bin bei dir BWV 228
#5 – Saturday 14 March, All Saints, Eastbourne: Jesu meine Freude, BWV 227
#6 – Saturday 28 March, St Michael’s, Lewes: Komm, Jesu, komm, BWV 229 Although this was postponed, it took place eventually in October 2020.
